Practical information first
BoxFreeIT helps Australian small businesses define technology requirements before purchasing. Our guides and tools are available without an account or mandatory email address. You can use a storage calculation, download a checklist or read a buying guide and leave without making an enquiry.
The initial commercial focus is business cameras, supporting network equipment and suitable installation projects. The wider software and cybersecurity library remains a source of general guidance. We do not advertise a general managed-IT service or a paid cybersecurity audit through this website.
From a question to a useful brief
- Understand the decision. Read a guide for the problem or premises. Note the assumptions and unknowns.
- Plan the requirement. Use the camera questionnaire, storage estimate or network tool. Results depend on your inputs and do not replace a site assessment.
- Review before sending. You can copy a tool summary into the project form, edit it and remove anything unnecessary. Nothing is sent until you submit.
- Discuss equipment and scope. We review the brief and clarify missing information. A quote should state equipment, inclusions, exclusions, tax treatment and any assessment still required.
- Choose whether to proceed. Equipment supply, installation and any separately scoped work are agreed with the relevant business. A project request is not a purchase commitment.
Who handles equipment and installation?
Equipment enquiries can be handled through Security Wholesalers, an Australian security equipment retailer that shares ownership with BoxFreeIT. Installation enquiries may be handled by the related Serious Security team, primarily for Sydney and Melbourne, subject to service area, capacity and project scope.
We do not claim that either business has won an independent supplier comparison on this site. A manufacturer source link is not a partnership claim. If an unrelated supplier introduction is proposed, that should be discussed with you first; submitting does not automatically send your details to an installer marketplace.
How the website earns revenue
The business model is to provide useful planning resources and help suitable visitors become informed equipment or installation customers of the related businesses. Those businesses earn revenue when a purchase or installation proceeds. The shared commercial interest is disclosed so you can judge the recommendation with that context.
Free tools are not funded by selling the answers you enter. There is no advertising network or paid ranking system enabled in this release. Future sponsorship or paid services would need clear terms and disclosure. No recurring advisory subscription or paid planning checkout is currently offered.
What does a recommendation cost?
Submitting a standard project enquiry is free. The enquiry itself creates no charge. If a site visit, detailed design, specialist review or other work needs a fee, its scope and price must be agreed before it begins. Equipment and installation prices are supplied in the relevant quotation; planning examples on the website are not price promises.
Can I buy from someone else?
Yes. The tools explain methods and produce useful summaries without requiring a purchase. Compare proposals on the same scope, including recorder capacity, storage assumptions, cabling, power, commissioning and support. A lower headline price can represent a different job rather than a cheaper version of the same solution.
What should I send?
Describe your premises type, location, timing, broad budget, evidence needs and existing equipment models. A reviewed planning summary is optional. Do not send passwords, recovery codes, access-control credentials, sensitive customer records or detailed site vulnerabilities. Plans can be exchanged through an appropriate process after initial contact; public uploads are not enabled.
What happens after submission?
The server saves the request before attempting notification email and provides a reference after successful storage. The confirmation does not guarantee inbox delivery. The team can review the requirements, ask clarifying questions and establish service availability. No installation slot or response deadline is guaranteed by the form.
Read the privacy notice and commercial disclosure, or send your project brief when ready.
